PIT Reviews: A Gym for Life Above All Limits

Author: Steph R.

I joined PIT, Prime Intensity Training in October of 2011 after having my son, my 3rd child, in September of 2011.  I needed a push other than running, and walking around at a gym (floundering around), trying to figure out which machine to use next, and which class to take.  I needed to get my pre-baby body back.  I needed ME back.  I needed a place that I could go to for 1 hour a day, so that I could clear my head,  which helped me to be a strong mom and strong role model to my kiddos. 😊

A gym where no one judges you!  Is that even a thing??    I found it…..PIT; 1 Hour a Day is what everyone should give themselves, a 1 hour outlet to take care of YOU!  If you don’t take care of YOU, then you’re no good to anyone.

I didn’t need to shop around, and quite frankly, I don’t have time to shop around.  I work full time, I do plenty socially, and I have 3 awesome kiddos who are super active and an amazing husband who supports my exercise schedule. My kids also see mommy and daddy exercising, and know how important it is as well.

I went to PIT once, and was instantly hooked, fast forward 10 years later, and still the BEST gym ever, and in the best shape of my life at the age of 47.  (which is really the new 37, right?)

I am not really here to talk about Matt, Pat or their Trainers – they are all GREAT – I mean, I have been a member for 10 years, so they are doing something right for sure!!  Kudos to them!  I am not a gym hopper, when I find a place that gives results, why leave!  PIT has delivered in more ways than one. I met the most amazing people there and I have also encouraged so many to try, that to this day, still go!

I was always active, and grew up playing several sports in middle school & high school, and was always outside as a kid running around.  I joined my first gym in high school at the age of 15.  I later became certified to train and teach group exercise classes.  I went to college for my BS in Exercise Physiology/Pre Physical Therapy and my MBA in Healthcare Finance, I guess you could say, health, wellness and exercise are a passion and love of mine.

Fast forward to 2020, the year we all want to skip, the year we all want to just go away.  The year my gym closed for 10-weeks…..the year that affected Every. Single. Person.  This year I had to get creative until my gym reopened.  The year everyone had to get creative to stay healthy, the year everyone had to get out of their comfort zone and figure it out.    There were several silver linings to 2020 also, but that is not a year I would wish on any small business.  PIT has survived and will continue to survive the Pandemic, they survived a flood, and their community of members was there to help…..PIT is strong and nothing can stop them!

I am a true believer that physical activity fights illnesses and boosts your immunity, so when my gym closed for 10-weeks, I was devastated.   The science in me could go on….I guess what I am saying is, PIT truly is a place I go, for 1 hour a day, a few days a week to bring me sanity, health, community, friendships, family and humor….GET TO PIT!  FIRST 2 CLASSES ARE FREE!!!
